AGI

Alliance Graphique Internationale

The world’s leading Graphic Design organisation, Alliance Graphique Internationale, also know as the AGI consists of several types of workers including commercial artists, mural makers, typographers, printmakers, art directors, illustrators and poster designers who created several memorable masterpieces around the world, such as, packaging design, publications, illustration and posters. In Paris 1951, five Graphic designers founded AGI.They wanted to create a meeting place for designers all over the world to take interest into other designers work, to discuss ideas and organise joint exhibitions to show off their work. After the war a lot of them lost contact, and some of them had never even met each other. The organization grew with popularity, gaining not just French and Swiss designers but designers from Great Britain, Germany and USA. AGI seeks to promote itself as and organisation to help communicate to and educate Graphic designers.
