Christmas present...

My sister paid me to recreate a GCSE piece that I did some years ago to give her boyfriend as he fell in love with it at first sight. Lets hope likes this version. I just used a blank canvas with acrylics mixed with PVA glue.

Sketchibition

The Sketchibition was a collaborative project with myself, Jack, Sandra, Louise and Meri. We decided to create an exhibition of past sketch books that people have used from Foundation or A level. We hung them up on string all the way round the room for people to pick up easier and also because it looked really good. In the end we managed to put up over 30 books which isn't bad but we felt with better preparation we could of got a lot more.

Observation to souvenir...

We started off by walking round the Imperial War museum, using 10 pieces of a4 paper to draw images of things that had an element of typography. I found the day very productive, producing a number of quality images. The science museum I found easier as the brief was to do with movement, such as axels motion and kinetics. After the observation we were told to put our work up on the walls for tutor analysis, to see how we can incorporate the images into souvenirs.

My first initial thought was to create a slide game but in 3D and make a prototype using card. At first I did a tester and created a small version to see whether it worked. I thought of this idea using my images from the imperial war museum and add them to each side of the blocks of my slidy game. That way it is easier to just photocopy the images and use them instead of creating new ones.

My second initial idea (with the time I had) I created a poster in which I incorporated the drawings and moulded them into different vehicles as a kind of fun imagery effect, aimed at children. So far I have only done an idea of a plane in motion on the poster, its very simple but I hope to work on it more in the near future. I could a whole range of posters: Cars, Boats, and Rocket ships etc.

AGI

Alliance Graphique Internationale

The world’s leading Graphic Design organisation, Alliance Graphique Internationale, also know as the AGI consists of several types of workers including commercial artists, mural makers, typographers, printmakers, art directors, illustrators and poster designers who created several memorable masterpieces around the world, such as, packaging design, publications, illustration and posters. In Paris 1951, five Graphic designers founded AGI.They wanted to create a meeting place for designers all over the world to take interest into other designers work, to discuss ideas and organise joint exhibitions to show off their work. After the war a lot of them lost contact, and some of them had never even met each other. The organization grew with popularity, gaining not just French and Swiss designers but designers from Great Britain, Germany and USA. AGI seeks to promote itself as and organisation to help communicate to and educate Graphic designers.
